The Contenders were in first place and defeated the Cardinals 3-1 in their first matchup this season. The Cardinals pushed the Contenders to 5 sets and came out victorious, winning 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-10). The win brings the Cardinals into a first-place tie with Faith Baptist.
